Financial Aid Counseling 101 – Basics Your Students and Parents Need to Know

If you are confused by the financial aid application process with all of its rules and regulations, imagine how overwhelmed your students and their families will be. This session will provide you with a broad overview of the basics of financial aid, working up to the application process. Get a head start on how to help families initiate the financial aid application process, where to send families for information online, basic eligibility criteria and the types of programs available from the federal and state government.

This webinar series is supported, in part, with a federal GEAR UP grant awarded to Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (cIcu) by the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC), the state agency designated to administer the state’s NYGEAR UP grant.
