Introduction to Survey

AfterSchool Works! NY: the New York State Afterschool Network (ASW:NYSAN) Afterschool Activity Survey

This following survey is for site directors in afterschool, summer, expanded learning, youth development, and other programs serving K-12 youth. The survey is meant to gather data about youth programs and STEM education across the state of New York. The goals of the survey are to 1) identify existing programs that provide STEM learning opportunities to youth, 2) identify places where STEM education is not available to youth, 3) identify barriers and supports for STEM education, and 4) connect site directors to professional development opportunities and existing networks of other providers.

By participating, you will help map programs providing STEM learning activities and provide key information on existing supports and challenges. The information gathered in this survey will be used to 1) identify existing field leaders and best practices for afterschool/summer STEM programming; 2) improve access to professional development on related to STEM education; and 3) encourage the growth of locally-connected STEM programming.

This is not an anonymous survey. Contact information and site-specific location information will be gathered.

This survey is to be taken by a site director, lead teacher, or other site-level supervisor responsible for the people who directly serve youth in an afterschool, summer, expanded learning, youth development, or similar program.

By participating in this survey, you will be added to the ASW:NYSAN listserv and to ASW:NYSAN’s database of programs engaged with STEM learning. You will be given the choice to opt-out, if you choose not to be included on the listserv.

If you agree to the above, please continue, and thank you for sharing your knowledge with ASW:NYSAN!
